Speaking with Sports 247, the passionate runner shared insights from her experience, motivation, and message to Nigerian women.
On her marathon experience she says “This is my first full marathon but my ninth run which has always been 10km. I chose the 42km this year and I did it for a reason, and honestly, the new route is perfect. It’s leveled, with minimal friction, and very straightforward. I think I enjoyed this one the most.”
Speaking On weather and route challenges, Omole explains “There was breeze, yes, but it wasn’t as challenging as routes with potholes where you have to dodge and navigate. Even when you’re climbing a bridge, your mind is already set for it. It’s just a few slopes here and there.”
On continuing her fitness journey Omole told Sports247 “Of course I’ll continue running. Fitness for me is a lifestyle. I work out every day and do between 10k to 18k steps daily. It’s part of who I am.”
In her message to Nigerians especially women, “Nigerian women need to stop thinking fitness is only for fat people. That’s a big misconception.
Fitness is about health, whether you’re slim or big. A big person can even be fitter than a slim person. Don’t aim for fitness just to lose weight, aim for health and longevity.”
Speaking on event organization she says “As long as I get to the finish line and get my medal, I’m good. I’m an amateur runner, not an athlete, so expectations differ.
But honestly, the organizers are doing amazing. It’s not easy to organize something like this, and it’s free. In other countries, you pay for marathons. I think they’re trying, and that matters.”
On future marathon plans, “If I have the funding, why not? I participate in several Lagos-based runs, Lagos Women Run, Road Warriors, Fitness Hangouts, Verve Life. Those are my major fitness activities for now.”
Queen Omole’s story is a powerful reminder that consistency, purpose, and mindset are what truly carry runners across the finish line.
