Joseph Atule made an instant impact as he stepped off the bench to score the decisive goal in Barau FC’s 1–0 victory over Kun Khalifat in their NPFL Matchday 26 clash.
The forward, who joined the club during the mid-season transfer window, was making just his second appearance for the Kano-based side.
He seized his moment in the 75th minute, finishing brilliantly from Sugau Aliyu’s inviting cross to hand Barau FC a crucial lead.
The goal not only secured all three points but also marked Atule’s first strike of the season in Barau colours, underlining his growing influence within the squad.
Barau FC showed composure and defensive discipline in the closing stages to protect their slender advantage and claim a hard-fought victory in what proved to be a tightly contested encounter.
Atule’s match-winning display earned him the Kano SWAN Man of the Match award, a fitting recognition for a player who delivered when it mattered most.
With the business end of the season approaching, Barau FC will be encouraged by the forward’s timely contribution as they look to build momentum and climb the NPFL standings.
