Sports247 reports that the competition, which was tagged Oko Baba U10 Football League, has been a regular feature in the area for 15 years, starting when the arena was a dusty pitch.

The competition’s youthful organiser, Saheed Jimoh disclosed that the competition is his own way of helping in the discovery of hidden talents across the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

Jimoh enthused, “I am happy with what I am doing for these under-10 boys, and it’s something that I’ve done for 15 years without a sponsor.

“I am happy that, this year, we were able to get the secretary-general of Nigerian Grassroots Football Federation, TM Oscar, as our chairman of the day.

“His presence really motivated the boys to give their best, and I believe many of them have been inspired to try harder in ensuring that they develop their football careers better.”
