Speaking on his international allegiance, the Fenerbahçe full-back said representing Nigeria remains a source of pride for him, stressing that his decision was never in doubt.
“If I had to make the choice again, I would still choose Nigeria,” Osayi-Samuel said. “The Super Eagles come first for me.”
Osayi-Samuel also revealed that his close friend, Eberechi Eze, once reached out to him to ask about life in the Super Eagles camp. He described the conversation as a reflection of the positive atmosphere around the national team.
“Eberechi once called to ask what the camp was like,” he explained. “To me, that showed interest, because the environment around the team is very good.”
While acknowledging that Eze eventually chose to represent England, Osayi-Samuel made it clear that his own path was firmly rooted with Nigeria.
“Everyone has their own journey, and I respect his choice,” he added. “But for me, Nigeria is home. I’m proud to wear the green and white and give my all whenever I’m called upon.”
The defender’s comments underline the strong sense of unity and belief currently within the Super Eagles camp, as the team continues to build on recent progress at international level.
