The forward arrives from the Rauma-based club in Finland, adding fresh attacking firepower to Ikorodu City’s frontline as the club pushes harder in the title chase.

Pallo-Iirot, founded in 1930, play their home matches at the Äijänsuon Stadion in Rauma, where Akuvuo featured before making the move back to Nigeria.

The acquisition is seen as a timely boost for the Oga Boys as the NPFL season enters a decisive phase, with goals expected to make the difference in the tight race at the top of the table.

As at Matchday 25, Ikorodu City sit joint-top of the NPFL table on 41 points alongside Rivers United and Nasarawa United.

Although Rivers United have four outstanding matches, Ikorodu City’s position at the summit highlights the intensity of the title battle and the fine margins that could decide the championship.

With Chinedu Akuvuo now added to the mix, Ikorodu City will be hoping the new striker can hit the ground running and provide the cutting edge needed to sustain their push for NPFL glory.
