The Nigerian side carry a slender 1-0 advantage into the encounter after edging Senegal in the first leg in Abeokuta. The breakthrough came in the second half, courtesy of a well-taken header by Kindness Ifeanyi, giving the Falconets a vital edge ahead of the return fixture.
However, the team will be without forward Janet Akekoromowei, who sustained an injury during the first leg and has been ruled out of the second-leg tie. Her absence is expected to test the squad’s depth as they aim to protect their narrow lead on Senegalese soil.
With qualification to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup at stake, the Falconets will be looking to deliver a disciplined and composed performance to secure their progression to the next stage.
All eyes now turn to Senegal as Nigeria’s young stars seek to finish the job and continue their march toward the global showpiece.
