Sports247 gathered that, with Nwosu excelling on all fronts, The Seahawks won their second Super Bowl championship title in history, with a 29-13 victory over New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium.

Nwosu and his colleagues had a record-breaking defensive performance, as they shut down Drake Maye and New England’s offence in a game that was rarely competitive, because The Patriots could not move the ball.

At a key point in the game, Nwosu snagged a misplaced throw by the opposition and took it 45 yards for what initially looked like a fumble return for a touchdown, only for the officials to rule it out.

The Nigerian-born lad returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown, when The Patriots’ star quarterback, Maye was hit by Seahawks corner, Devon Witherspoon, sending the ball flying into Nwosu’s arms.

With less than nine minutes remaining, that practically wrapped up the win for Seattle, and an interception for a 44-yard touchdown by Nwosu put a bow on the performance, to help The Seahawks wrap up victory.

The Seahawks’ victory marks a massive highpoint for Nwosu, who played college football for USC Trojans, and was selected by Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft.

Before then, Nwosu attended USC, where he played under Steve Sarkisian and Clay Helton but, after 12 games during his freshman season, he could not feature in the 2014 Holiday Bowl, as he did not enroll for the following spring semester.

Sports247 reports that The Seahawks also featured another Nigerian-born player, Nicholas Ovundah Eze Emmanwori, who had been elected with the 35th pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft.
