Raphael Onyedika delivered an assured and commanding midfield performance as Club Brugge recorded a comfortable home league victory over Standard Liège, continuing their strong push at the top end of the Belgian Pro League table.

The Nigerian international played the full 90 minutes and was influential throughout the contest, showcasing his defensive intelligence and physical presence in the middle of the park.
Onyedika finished the match with two successful tackles and an impressive eight duels won, underlining his importance in breaking up opposition play and maintaining Brugge’s control of possession.
Club Brugge opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Nicolo Tresoldi found the back of the net after a well-worked move, finishing clinically from a precise assist by Kyriani Sabbe.
The goal settled the home side, who continued to dictate the tempo with quick passing and coordinated pressing.
Their advantage was doubled before the break in fortunate circumstances, as D. Bates inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to deal with sustained pressure from the Brugge attack. The own goal further tilted the balance firmly in favour of the hosts.
In the second half, Club Brugge maintained their dominance and put the result beyond doubt when Joel Ordóñez added a third goal, rising to meet a fine delivery from Carlos Forbs.
With the three-goal cushion, Brugge saw out the remainder of the match comfortably, limiting Standard Liège to few clear chances.
