Sports247 reports that Emmanwori had initially been declared out of the encounter, after he copped an ankle injury in practice on Wednesday, while defending a pass play, but was able to walk off the field on his own.

A pool report from ESPN’s Kalyn Kahler further revealed that The Seahawks are still sweating over Emmanwori, but further specifics are not yet known, and it is still unclear if he will be listed for Sunday’s contest.

His absence would mark a key setback for The Seahawks, who drafted Emmanwori from South Carolina with the 35th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Kahler added that several Seahawks’ players and coaches went over to comfort the finalist for AP Defensive Rookie of The Year before he walked off the field on his own power.

One of the officials confirmed the setback, saying: “He had an ankle. We brought him in to look at it, and we’ll kind of go from here and figure out what are the next steps?”

Sports247 gathered further that Nicholas Ovundah Eze Emmanwori is a Nigerian-born professional football safety, who shot into limelight while playing college football for South Carolina Gamecocks stars.
