Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Andy Reid has described Ola Aina as a significant asset to the club, insisting the defender was sorely missed during his time out injured.

Speaking on Aina’s impact, Reid noted that the Nigerian international offers far more than defensive stability, pointing to his contributions going forward and the personality he brings into the squad.
“He’s a big plus for this team coming back in,” Reid said. “What he does, not just defensively, but what he does going forward as well. And then you couple that with the personality that he brings in.”
Reid stressed that Aina’s absence was felt within the team, particularly because of his pace, versatility, and influence on both sides of the game.
“He was a big miss when he was out,” he added. “He definitely brings that personality, brings that defensive kind of solidity with his pace. But also going forward, he’s a real threat as well.”
The former Republic of Ireland international concluded that Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche will be pleased to have Aina available again as the team looks to regain balance and consistency.
“So Sean will be delighted to get him back in there,” Reid said.
Aina’s return is expected to strengthen Forest’s defensive options while also providing added width and attacking thrust, qualities that have become central to his role since joining the club.
