The Falconets took the lead in the 20th minute through Shakirat Moshood, who capitalised on sustained pressure to give the national side an early advantage.

The young Nigerians controlled large spells of the contest, using the game to fine-tune their tactical shape and combinations following their recent relocation from Ibadan to Abeokuta.

FC Robo Queens, however, showed resilience and discipline, keeping the game competitive and forcing the Falconets to remain alert defensively.

Their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when Kehinde Adegbuyi calmly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity, momentarily threatening to derail the Falconets’ momentum.

Just as the encounter seemed destined for a draw, Janet Akekoromowei struck late in the 88th minute to seal victory for the Falconets.

Her decisive finish underlined the team’s fighting spirit and ability to respond under pressure, qualities that will be crucial in competitive fixtures.

The win further highlights the Falconets’ steady adaptation ahead of the qualifier with the coaching crew satisfied by the growing cohesion and intensity within the squad.

Attention now turns fully to the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifying showdown against Senegal, as the Falconets look confident, settled, and ready for the challenge ahead.
