Matchday Two of the ongoing Nathaniel Idowu–Ajegunle Under-14 Football League takes centre stage on Saturday at the Nathaniel Idowu Pitch, Oregie, Ajegunle, with players and officials set to honour the late father of Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi.

The grassroots football tournament, which kicked off in impressive fashion, delivered excitement and attacking football on its opening day, with a total of 21 goals recorded across six matches.
The strong turnout of football lovers is expected to continue as the competition progresses into its second day.
According to the organisers, all teams and match officials will observe a minute’s silence before kickoff, while players will also wear black armbands throughout the day’s fixtures as a mark of respect for Ndidi’s late father.
Speaking on the planned tribute, the Director-General of the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, McAnthony Anaelechukwu, described Wilfred Ndidi as a key figure in the renewed enthusiasm for youth football development in Ajegunle.
He noted that the Super Eagles midfielder has continued to inspire and uplift the community through his consistent support for grassroots football and youth empowerment initiatives.
Matchday Two action begins at 12:00 pm, with Pure Talents FA taking on Young 11 FA in the opening fixture. Michael May FA will face Best of Best International FA in the second match of the day.
Other fixtures on the schedule include Divinely Blessed FA versus Bright Future FA, Strong Dove FA against Fortune FA, and Ajegunle SC locking horns with Sharp Talent FA.
The final match of the day will see Moree Wins FA battle Coal City FA.
As the tournament continues, organisers remain optimistic that the Nathaniel Idowu–Ajegunle U14 League will further cement its status as a vital platform for nurturing young football talents within the Ajegunle community.
