This is sequel to a formal request to the continental body by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for a change of venue, due to bad conditions at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, which was initially meant to host the third round, first leg fixture.
NFF’s director of competitions, Ruth David disclosed that the match will now be played at The Rock City in Ogun State due to deteriorating state of the pitch in Ibadan that had earlier been approved for the encounter.
The Falconets will now relocate from Ibadan, where they played their second round, second leg clash with Rwanda in September last year and had already started training there ahead of next Saturday’s match.
It means Moses Aduku’s team, who defeated Rwanda 5-0 on aggregate to qualify for this penultimate round of the qualifiers, will have to settle down quickly in order to defeat Senegal on February 7th in Abeokuta.
They will also aim for an aggregate win across two legs, then move on to face the winner between Guinea Bissau and Malawi, in order to reach the Female Youth Mundial scheduled for September in Poland.
