The Harmony Boys suffered a 1–0 defeat to Kun Khalifat on Matchday 23, played on Saturday, extending their barren run in front of goal since the restart of the league’s second stanza.
Kun Khalifat secured all three points courtesy of a 52nd-minute strike from team captain, Chikamso Amaefula, who calmly converted to hand his side a crucial home victory.
Reacting after the match, Coach Suleiman admitted the current situation has been challenging for his team, citing loss of form and the departure of key players for foreign trials as major setbacks.
“This is a difficult moment for us. We have not scored a goal since the restart of the league in the second stanza. We’ve lost form and players to foreign trials, but we will surely strengthen the squad,” Suleiman said.
Despite the setback, the Kwara United boss remains optimistic that reinforcements will help the club rediscover its scoring touch as the season progresses.
The defeat leaves Kwara United under pressure heading into the next round of fixtures, while Kun Khalifat continue to boost their campaign with an important Matchday 23 victory.
