Nottingham Forest officially confirmed Omewa’s arrival this week, with head coach Carly Davies expressing delight at securing the Nigerian international, whom she believes will significantly strengthen the squad’s attacking options.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Joy Omewa to Nottingham Forest,” Davies said.
“Joy’s incredible goalscoring prowess speaks for itself. She’s a dynamic forward with a natural instinct in front of goal, and her ability to find the net consistently at both club and international level makes her a fantastic addition to our squad.
“Joy is exactly the type of player who can help us push forward and achieve our ambitions.”

The Nigerian said Forest’s ambition and vision played a major role in her decision to make the switch to England.
“I am delighted to sign for Nottingham Forest,” Omewa said.
“It’s an ambitious club and I’m excited to be a part of this team. I can’t wait to get started and I believe I can add a lot to an already talented group here at Forest.”
The move sees Omewa take on a new challenge in WSL2, where Nottingham Forest are currently sixth on the table, level on points with Newcastle United.
The club faces a crucial run of fixtures against promotion hopefuls Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, with Omewa’s arrival viewed as a timely boost in their push up the standings.
Beyond her on-field impact, Omewa also becomes the latest Nigerian footballer to be associated with Nottingham Forest, following in the footsteps of Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, who represent the club on the men’s side.
As she begins life in England, expectations will be high for Omewa to replicate her goalscoring form and play a key role in Forest’s promotion ambitions.
