Although the camp is still almost three months away, as it will coincide with the Easter Holiday, Young Tigers’ founder and coach, Taiwo Abiodun Qudus (aka Santos) said they have to start planning early.
Consequently, talk about the camp is now top of their discussions, among other equally important issues, when the players gather for regular training sessions at their base in Lanre Igando New Town.
‘Coach Santos’ thanked the team manager, Mr Akintola as well as all the captains – Akintola Noah (U8), Adeniyi Isiah (U10), Taiwo Abdullahi (U13) and Okoh God’swill (U14) – for how they have played key roles in taking the academy to greater height.
He cited their efforts of last year in becoming champions of the under-10 category at Ijako Sugar Summer Camp, second runner-up in Alapoti Baale’s Cup 2025 and winner of Hydra U13 Cup at Community Primary School, Ikotun.
The ambitious tactician then revealed his targets for 2026, as he affirmed: “I want to continue the process of building new young talented players. It means we must take part in many activities this year.
“Among our programnes will be to participate in Olori Hadijat U13 Cup and Interlinks 2nd Term Holiday Football Camp. There are many other competitions that will still come up, and we will register for them.
“For us to achieve all of this, we need a lot of technical, material and financial support. We also want someone to please sponsor us with a team bus so that we can transport ourselves to distant matches without stress to the players.”
He also charged sports lovers and officials all across Nigeria to look into improved support for grassroots football; so that they will motivate young talents and their coaches.
