The sports director and coach of Anchorage Field Schools (AFS) of FESTAC Town in Lagos, Goldenmouth Chilaka is counting the blessings and achievements that the project gained last year, Sports247 reports.
Chilaka disclosed that the youth development sports project, which is popularly known as Golden Anchorage Academy, grooms male and female talents in athletics and football.
He further disclosed that some of his many wards who stand out among the most promising talents are Oguonu Chiamaranma, Yasir Ribadu, Nwamadu Charles and Nwosu Majesty.
Chilaka, who is a former footballer, table tennis player and athlete, added that he is also happy that the project has been able to send some footballers abroad and many of them are already waxing strong at their various clubs in Europe.
He revealed, “The special areas I took part in during my active days were football and table tennis, in which I won a number of award and medals.
“I was also good in athletics, especially marathon. I tried my very best for Nigeria, but a series of injuries and surgery kept me from going out of the country.
“While I could not travel abroad, I’m happy that my products are moving. Among those we have who are doing well abroad is Precious Nanakeme. He even moved from England to Portugal last season.
“There is also David Ikechukwu, who played in the NNL before travelling to Ghana and Prosper, who is in the Ukrainian League. I just thank God for what He is helping us to achieve together.”
