Kun Khalifat FC made a blistering start to the encounter, taking the lead as early as the 6th minute through Oghenetega, who capitalised on a moment of defensive lapse to silence the home supporters.

The early goal handed the visitors confidence, as they sat deep and looked to frustrate Remo Stars while threatening on the counter.

Remo Stars gradually grew into the game, enjoying more possession but struggling to convert dominance into clear-cut chances.

Their best opportunity before the break came through sustained pressure, but Kun Khalifat’s defence held firm to maintain their advantage going into halftime.

The second half saw increased urgency from Remo Stars. In the 67th minute, Fabian Nworie came agonisingly close to drawing the hosts level, heading inches wide from a well-delivered corner by Hadi, who had earlier tested the Kun Khalifat goalkeeper with a long-range effort.

Persistence finally paid off in the 78th minute, when Ahmed Akinyele struck from distance, unleashing a powerful long-range effort that found the back of the net to restore parity for Remo Stars. The goal lifted the tempo of the game, with both sides pushing for a late winner.

Despite late pressure, neither team could find a decisive goal, and the match ended in a 1–1 stalemate.

The result earned both sides a share of the spoils, as Remo Stars continue to navigate life away from their traditional home ground, while Kun Khalifat FC left Ibadan with a valuable away point.
