Ekeh Praises Rangers’ Mentality After 4–2 Win Over Warri Wolves, Eyes Plateau United Clash

Enugu Rangers assistant coach Ekenedilichukwu Ekeh has hailed his team’s mentality, consistency, and attacking efficiency following their emphatic 4–2 victory over Warri Wolves in an NPFL Matchday 22 encounter, describing the result as another sign of the club’s growing momentum this season.

Speaking after the entertaining contest in Enugu, Ekeh reflected on Rangers’ recent run of results, highlighting the Flying Antelopes’ ability to bounce back strongly from setbacks.

“We went to Kun Khalifat FC and came back with maximum points,” he said. “The draw against Rivers United here was not a welcome result for us because we are Rangers and we never say die, but we’ve accepted it as part of the game and moved on.”

The former defender emphasized that Rangers’ home form has been particularly encouraging, noting that this was the second time the team has scored four goals at home this season, following an earlier high-scoring win against Bayelsa United.

“This win means a lot to us,” Ekeh continued. “Consistency is what keeps us going. Possession without goals is nothing, so we’ve worked hard to cultivate the ability to score goals, and you can see the results on the pitch.”

Looking ahead, the assistant coach confirmed that Rangers are fully focused on their next league fixture against Plateau United, stressing that dedication, commitment, and faith remain central to the team’s philosophy.

“By the grace of God, with effort, dedication, and commitment, we will get to where we belong,” he said confidently. “I promise that God will put Rangers where they truly belong.”

Ekeh also welcomed the return of head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu from international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, describing it as an added boost to the squad.

“We are 100 percent motivated,” he concluded. “When the father is not around and the children are doing well, it only brings more grace to the family. With the coach back, we are even stronger.”
