Fast-rising Nigerian-born rugby player, Edwin Edogbo has received his first national team invitation by Republic of Ireland, ahead of their upcoming international engagement.
Sports247 gathered that Edogbo gains a maiden call-up alongside fellow-uncapped ace, Nathan Doak, in Ireland’s squad for the Six Nations competition.

Edogbo will join other rookies in the squad named by Ireland’s coach, Andy Farrell, who rolled out a list of 37 players, which includes Ulster captain and 85-cap veteran, Iain Henderson.
However, among the absentees is another Nigerian-born player, Cormac Izuchukwu, who is not available, while Robbie Henshaw, Calvin Nash, Jimmy O’Brien, Andrew Porter, Ryan Baird, Mack Hansen and Paddy McCarthy are all injured.
Edogbo, a second row who plays for Munster Rugby Club, gets a second chance to get his first Ireland cap, after injury stopped him from honouring his inclusion in Ireland’s Nations Series squad in the autumn.
