Sports247 reports that, although it was only on Wednesday that the Nigerian-born winger arrived at ‘OM,’ the club’s coach, Roberto De Zerbi is already talking in glowing terms about the lad’s fertile prospects.

The gaffer stated that he candidly believes he has hooked a very promising youngster, who he knows will add great quality to his forward line, then tipped Nwaneri to be a sensation before his return to Arsenal.

De Zerbi also provided a strong hint that Nwaneri will go straight into the squad versus RC Lens, alongside another new arrival, Quinten Timber, a midfielder who came in from Feyenoord of Netherlands.

The city of Marseille has been abuzz since 18-year-old Nwaneri arrived, as he follows in the footsteps of Arsenal defender, William Saliba, who first went out on loan to OGC Nice and then OM before getting into The Gunners’ squad.

De Zerbi said he was excited to welcome the two youngsters and the Italian tactician added: “As far as Timber and Nwaneri, they are two strong players, and I’m really happy to have them in the squad.

“They could be ready as early as Saturday. These are two quality players, for sure. Timber also has experience and Nwaneri has talent, he is a very high potential player.”

Nwaneri also expressed satisfaction and excitement with his move to Marseille, where he acknowledged that he will be inspired by what Saliba achieved with the Stade Velodrome outfit some seasons ago.

He also scoffed any misgivings, considering that he has to continue his career development outside England, despite keen interest expressed in his services by Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

The Nigerian-born England under-21 international retorted, “William Saliba told me OM is one of the best clubs in the world. Roberto De Zerbi is also one of the best coaches in the world.”
