Abia Angels’ Oloko Fatima Crowned NWFL Best Goalkeeper for Week 7

Abia Angels goalkeeper Oloko Fatima has been named the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Best Goalkeeper for Week 7, following her outstanding performance in the ongoing NWFL Premiership season.

The weekly award, which comes with a cash prize, is sponsored by the Judith Chime Foundation and has been recognising exceptional goalkeeping displays in the league for over four seasons.

Fatima earned the honour after a stellar showing in Abia Angels’ 1–0 away victory over Delta Queens in Asaba during a midweek fixture.

The teenage shot-stopper made several crucial saves to preserve a clean sheet, helping her side secure their first away win of the season.

Born on February 2, 2008, in Cross River State, Fatima is widely regarded as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Nigerian women’s football.

She is currently part of the Nigeria U-20 women’s national team goalkeeping unit.

Her club career has seen her feature for FC Robo, Adamawa Queens, and Rivers Angels, where she established herself as a reliable presence between the posts.

Gold medal at the Lagos State FA Cup
Gold at the Flying Officers Preseason Tournament (2021)
Silver medal at the AITEO Cup (2021)
Bronze at the NWFL Premiership Super Six (2021)
President’s Federation Cup winner (2025) with Rivers Angels

The NWFL Best Goalkeeper of the Week award was instituted by former Super Falcons goalkeeper Judith Chime to promote excellence and reward outstanding goalkeeping performances in the Nigerian women’s league.

Fatima’s latest recognition further highlights her rapid development and growing reputation as one of the league’s standout young talents.
