Sports247 reports that Obikwu was beaming with satisfaction, following confirmation that the club that shot Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel to limelight had sealed his full transfer from Coventry.

It marks the beginning of a new chapter in the career of the 21-year-old Obikwu, who never played for The Sky Blues’ first team but scored three goals in 21 games during a loan spell at Lincoln City earlier in the season.

Obikwu, who also scored 10 goals in 38 games while on loan at Grimsby Town last campaign, has four caps for Trinidad and Tobago in World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies.

The lad with a Nigerian father is now thinking of taking another big step forward in his chosen career, with high hopes of making top marks in the second-tier of England’s ever-vibrant football scene.

He retorted gleefully, “I’m delighted. I’m very happy and very excited to get started. It’s a new chapter in my journey. When I heard the name QPR my ears sprung up.

“I think everything that’s been described to me, from the staff to the fans, the stadium and the training ground, everything about it aligns with my development and where I want to be.”
