Sports247 reports that, barely 24 hours after stepping off the plane from Morocco, where he won bronze with Nigeria, Akor joined his club for their clash away to Elche on Monday and struck a brace that saved Sevilla from falling to their hosts.
The former Montpellier of France hitman got off Sevilla’s bench in the 46th minute of Monday’s fixture, at a point when they were trailing 2-0 and appeared to be heading for a whipping.
However, the lad from Benue State had other thoughts on his mind, as he pulled a goal back in the 75th minute and then sealed the equaliser with a 90th minute penalty kick.
It took Akor’s stats for the current season to four goals in 15 games, while his compatriot, Chidera Ejuke, who played the game as a 63rd minute sub, now has13 appearances with a single goal to his name.
Sports247 gathered further that the draw took Sevilla up to 14th posituin on the 20-team La Liga table, while Elche remain 8th on the log.
