Senegal captain Sadio Mané has been crowned the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after spearheading the Teranga Lions’ successful title run in Morocco.

Mané’s influence was pivotal as Senegal edged hosts Morocco 1–0 after extra time in Sunday’s dramatic final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The closely fought encounter remained scoreless through regulation time before Pape Gueye netted the decisive goal in the 94th minute, sealing

Senegal’s second continental crown.

The final was not without controversy, as Morocco were awarded a late penalty following a VAR review.

However, Senegal goalkeeper Édouard Mendy preserved his side’s advantage by denying Brahim Díaz from the spot, allowing the West Africans to withstand sustained late pressure from the hosts.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the official list of team and individual award recipients from the 2025 edition of the competition.
