Nwaneri’s Hope Of Joining West Ham United Dashed By Arsenal’s Crew

Arsenal of England youngster, Ethan Nwaneri has found his hopes of moving to West Ham United dashed by officials at Emirates Stadium, who are not keen on letting the Nigerian-born winger join one of their fellow-London-based rivals.

Sports247 reports that, although The Hammers wanted to take Nwaneri on loan for the remaining half of the season, and the youngster was eager to make the move in order to gain regular playing time, Arsenal’s top shots did not agree.

Rather than accept West Ham’s loan offer, The Gunners have opted to keep Nwaneri and line him up for an improved spell of playing time under Mikel Arteta, as they make another spirited push for the English Premier League title.

A report by Football.London added: “West Ham are one of several Premier League sides to have enquired about Nwaneri’s availability.

“The 18-year-old signed a new five-year contract last year, but he has only managed to make four starts across all competitions so far this season.

“It’s understood that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are looking to sign a replacement for Lucas Paqueta, who looks set to join Flamengo.

“Arsenal were quick to turn them off Nwaneri, however, with neither the club nor the player’s camp giving them any sign the forward can leave.”
