Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle has fired up his players after Wednesday’s semi-final loss to hosts Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and declared that they have to win the third-place match versus Egypt.
Sports247 reports that the Super Eagles will tango The Pharaohs on Saturday, with eyes on a record extending ninth AFCON bronze medal, which Chelle admitted he wants his players to win and make up for missing the final.

He added that he remains proud of the players and opined that they were the best team at AFCON 2025, hence his charge for them to put Wednesday’s loss behind them and prove their mettle by defeating Egypt.
“We have a last game against Egypt. I am proud of my players, but I’m also disappointed for them. The reality is we were maybe the best team in this AFCON.
“So, we have to go out and respond in our last game. The AFCON is not finished. We have to focus on the last game, and we have to win it,” the Franco-Malian tactician reiterated.
