Coach Jeff Laments Missed Opportunity as Sporting Lagos Settle for Home Draw

Sporting Lagos head coach, Jeff Buter, expressed disappointment after his side was held to a 1–1 draw by Solution FC on Sunday, as the Nigeria National League (NNL) second stanza got underway.

Speaking after the match, Coach Jeff admitted his team failed to capitalise on their chances.

“Disappointed. We should have taken all three points,” he said, reflecting on a result that saw Sporting Lagos drop two valuable points at home.

Despite the setback, the coach remained focused on the bigger picture.

“We drop points to pick points, it is what it is. We still have nine more games to go and a lot of work ahead of us. Losing two points is painful, but the season is far from over,” he added.

Coach Jeff also acknowledged the unwavering support of the fans, noting their importance to the team’s progress.

“When we win, the fans are happy. When we drop points, we are disappointed, but they never stop supporting us. We appreciate them and we will continue to work hard to do better.”

The draw leaves Sporting Lagos with plenty to play for as the NNL campaign resumes, with the club aiming to regain momentum in the remaining fixtures of the season.
