Moses Itauma’s Highly Publiciced Boxing Bout Receives New Date

The much talked about international heavyweight boxing bout between Nigerian-born fast-rising youngster, Moses Itauma and USA’s Jermaine Franklin has been moved to March 28th.

Sports247 gathered that the highly anticipated fight for the unbeaten 20-year-old Itauma had to be dropped from its initial date of January 24th after he copped an injury in training.

This much was revealed in a press statement by Itauma’s agency, Queensberry Promotions, which confirmed that ‘The New British hope’ sustained an injury at his preparation camp.

Itauma, who has soared up the ranks in recent months, was set to face Franklin on January 24th at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England, but it will now hold on March 28th at the same venue.

In a short statement on social media, Queensberry Promotions disclosed: “Unfortunately, Moses Itauma has sustained an injury in camp and therefore the Magnificent 7 show has been rescheduled for March 28.”

Sports247 reports that it is a slight setback for the badging lad, who has won all 13 of his professional fights and stopped fellow-Brit, Dillian Whyte, after just two minutes in August to underline his growing status.

Itauma also has a busy schedule ahead of him this year, as WBA have ordered him to face the winner between Kubrat Paul and Murat Gassiev, following which he will tango Lawrence Okolie in a WBC eliminator.
