Sports247 reports that the Super Eagles are in for their stiffest test so far at the ongoing competition, as they are set to tango the host nation for a spot in Sunday’s grand finale.

However, rather than feel cowed by the tough task ahead of them, Osimhen, who is likely to captain the Super Eagles for the game in Rabat, declared that the players will go all out because they want to be in the final.

Osimhen affirmed, “It’s like every other game, but it’s more important this time, because we want to get to the final. To get there, we have to win this semi-final.
“We know the kind of team we are facing.

So, of course, we have to bring in our A-game. We have to be focused from the first blast of the whistle until the very end.”

The 2023 African Footballer of The Year, who is currently second on the AFCON 2025 scorers’ chart with four goals, added that he is enthusiastic about the Eagles winning this tie, as all the players are united in their focus.

He added that the team’s Franco-Malian tactician, Eric Sekou Chelle, has also done a good job in knocking Nigeria’s present squad into a side to be highly reckoned with.

“We’ve been helping one another, and we have a coach who is very demanding. His has his tight philosophy, and if you don’t follow it, you will not play.
“It’s not a joke for him.

That’s why even our training sessions are like a war, because every player is running well and fighting hard to get a shirt.

“What you see on the pitch during our matches is what we do in training, and I’m really happy to be part of this team,” said the Chile 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup top scorer.

He concluded by conceding that Wednesday’s match will be tough and filled with tension from beginning to end, but reiterated his assurance that all the Nigerian players will give it their best efforts.

“It’s not going to be easy. We know the kind of team we are going to meet, and we’ll be playing in front of their fans.

“So, we’re going to give everything we have, and we’ll try all we can to win it. We want to win it, but it’s not going to be easy,” Osimhen acknowledged.
