The duo make the submission at Tuesday’s press conference ahead of the crunch tie as Nigeria stepped up preparations.
The Super Eagles coach maintained confidence despite the absence of their captain, Ndidi Wilfred.
Coach Chelle confirmed that team captain Wilfred Ndidi will miss the crucial semi-final, admitting his disappointment over the absence of the influential midfielder, while stressing that the team remains mentally and tactically prepared for the challenge ahead.
“I am disappointed that our captain will not participate in tomorrow’s match, as his influence on the team is substantial,” Chelle said. “Both Morocco and Nigeria are formidable teams, and my responsibility is to lead my team to victory.”
Despite Ndidi’s absence, the Malian tactician expressed confidence in his squad’s depth and determination to rise to the occasion against the tournament hosts.
Midfielder Alex Iwobi echoed his coach’s optimism, underlining the Super Eagles’ focus and unity as they aim for a place in the final.
“When we step onto the field, distractions are irrelevant,” Iwobi said. “We remain focused and fully concentrated. I am confident in our team’s abilities and our preparations for this match.”
