The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the match officials for the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 semi-final clash between Nigeria and host nation Morocco.

The crucial encounter is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, with kick-off set for 8:00pm GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium.
Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea will take charge of the match, assisted by Zakhele Thusi Granville Siwela of South Africa and Souru Phatsoane of Lesotho.
Arsenio Chadreque Maringule of Mozambique has been named as the third assistant referee.
Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda will serve as the fourth official, while South African official Abongile Tom has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
He will be supported by Haythem Guirat of Tunisia as Assistant VAR 1 and Stephen Onyango Yiembe of Kenya as Assistant VAR 2.
Meanwhile, experienced Ethiopian official Lidya Tafesse Abebe will act as the referee assessor for the encounter.
The semi-final showdown will see Nigeria’s Super Eagles battle tournament hosts Morocco for a place in the final, as both sides continue their quest for continental glory at the TotalEnergies AFCON 2025.
