Trey Ogunsuyi Cited With ‘Physical Assets’ On Arrival At Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Town of England new arrival, Trey Ogunsuyi has been cited with strong ‘physical assets’ that should help him succeed at his new base, where he is their second signing in the January transfer window.

Sports247 reports that a high physical rating is part of the general assessment that Ogunsuyi got on arrival at The Shrews, where the 19-year-old Belgium youth international will play on loan from Sunderland.

It is a new experience for Ogunsuyi, who played once for The Black Cats’ first team in an FA Cup fixture a year ago and spent the first half of last season with Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership, where he played nine league games.

Ogunsuyi, who had a prolific time with Sunderland’s under-18 and under-21 sides last season, during which he scored 15 goals in 20 appearances, was warmly welcomed by Shrewsbury’s head coach, Michael Appleton.

“Trey has got really good physical attributes, he is a big lad, he’s strong and he’s got good pace.
“I like the fact his movement is good. He is comfortable running in behind just as much as he is coming towards the ball. He gives you both options.

“He has scored goals at youth level. Now he needs to showcase his skills. He didn’t get the minutes he would have wanted at Falkirk.
“Hopefully, we can give him that opportunity and he can score a lot of goals for us,” Appleton enthused.
