Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle has raised the ante ahead of Wednesday’s semi-final against hosts Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as he declared that his aspiration is to keep winning each match in the tournament.
Sports247 reports that the Eagles will take on the Atlas Lions in a very decisive last-four tie in Rabat, Morocco this midweek and Chelle believe his team has improved well enough to overcome the hosts at their backyard.

He reasoned further that getting a 2-0 win over Algeria during the quarterfinals on Saturday showed how much better the Eagles are playing now than they did during their ill-fated World Cup qualifiers.
The Franco-Malian tactician thanked his players for following his instruction to their letter and hinted that they would play even better against Morocco in what many observers have already tagged ‘final-before-the-final.’
Chelle declared, “I’m very proud of my players. They work a lot and give every intention to do more work. Personally, I am so happy because my aspiration is to keep winning.”
Although he stopped short of projecting his team into next Sunday’s final at the same venue, Chelle inferred that the Eagles would improve further before Wednesday and step out for the semi-final clash with huge intentions.
The highly emotional gaffer added. “I have my intentions, and I’m happy with how my players played against Algeria. Now, we are in the semi-final and I’m very happy.
“We’ll keep working so that we can improve more. We have more motivation to work, and they are all hoping for something good.”
Chelle concluded by pointing out the differences between his AFCON 2025 squad and the one that struggled for goals during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with a verdict that it is simply because they now have more time of training together during the ongoing tournament.
The soft-spoken tactician pointed out, “They have improved, and they now understand more of what is expected of them. That’s because we have more training time together.
“It’s the same tactics we played during the World Cup qualifiers and the same philosophy, but they have improved every day since we got to Morocco. They now know my standpoint, and they know my vision.”
