Tripple 44 of Ibadan product, Emmanuel Godwin has stated delight with the warm reception he received at FK Pardubice of Czech Republic, and declared that he has seen early signs that he made the right choice.
Sports247 gathered that the impressive defender opted for a deal with the Eastern European club, despite offers from other teams across the continent, because he believed Pardubice have what it takes to help his career develop.

Consequently, the 20-year-old Godwin becomes the third African player in Jan Trousil’s squad, alongside fellow-Nigerian youngster, Abdullahi Tanko and Gambian forward, Muhammed Suso.
He made the move to the East Bohemia outfit on a four-and-a-half-year contract, after impressing in the Swedish second-division with Trelleborgs FF and reasoned that he has taken another step forward in his career.
Godwin told Flashscore.com: “I had a lot of opportunities, especially after the season ended and Trelleborgs FF got relegated.
“I received offers from Norway and within Sweden, but I felt it was the right time to move to a bigger league and take my career to the next level.”
He is now expected to add pace, tactical awareness and solidity to Pardubice’s defence, as they aim to finish strong in the Chance Liga, despite their poor start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Godwin added: “The level of interest FK Pardubice showed in me really stood out and played a big role in my decision.
“Signing the contract made me very happy, because it came at the right time and gave me the motivation I needed.
“I’m delighted to be here and excited to start at a higher level. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and helping me settle in quickly.
“I’m very happy to be here. My personal goal is to adapt as fast as possible so I can contribute effectively to the team.”
