The coach of Mozambique’s national team, Chiquinho Conde has warned that Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face stiff opposition from his team on Monday, because he and his players want to make their country proud.
Sports247 reports that Conde is wary of the top-quality Nigeria possess in all departments of their team but stressed that his lads will give their best in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 clash.

He added ahead of the game in Fes, Morocco (starting 8pm Nigeria time) that The Mambas will play to make their football loving president happy and use the match to provide succor to people who are suffering in their country.
Conde affirmed, “We are here for our country. Our only job is to continue representing it with dedication. Our country has faced many challenges and, right now, we have the support of our people.”
He admitted that the Eagles have a stronger pedigree than his side, especially as The Mambas have lost four games against the Nigerians and they managed to draw only one but pointed out that his players are not under any pressure.
Conde submitted, “It’s Nigeria. They are very competitive, with a squad of 28 players, most of whom play in top leagues abroad.
“What gives us strength is our unity as a group and the belief that we can compete with big teams. We want to be the best team we can be.
“This is not pressure; pressure is for those in hospitals. Our goal is to give everything we can, to enjoy the game, and to make our nation proud.”
Sports247 gathered that Conde spoke against the backdrop of reports that Mozambique’s president, Daniel Francisco Chapo has promised the players and crew an equivalent of ₦11.3m each if they defeat Nigeria.
