Habeeb Ogunneye Faces Fresh Loan Arrangement From Manchester United

Newport County of England defender, Habeeb Ogunneye is set to leave the lower division club and join another team on loan in a January deal set to be brokered by his parent club, Manchester United.

Sports247 gathered that the 20-year-old Ogunneye had been on loan from Old Trafford at Newport for the first half of the season but looks set to move elsewhere before the end of this month.

Although Ogunneye appeared to have established himself at Newport in the English League Two, The Red Devils have different plans for him, and they look set to recall him from that deal in order to send him elsewhere.

A report by BBC Sport adds, “Ogunneye has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Welsh outfit this season, nut he hasn’t been seen since the December 7 FA Cup defeat at National League Boreham Wood.”

Sports247 gathered further that the versatile full-back, who captained Newport at various intervals was born in Hackney, England to Nigerian parents, but has already played at under-17 level for the country of his birth.

Ogunneye made three appearances for the Cadet Lions between 2021 and 2022 but, with Nigeria actively monitoring his progress, England’s under-21 team’s coach, Lee Carsley publicly touted an invitation for the youngster.
