Nwabali revealed that his previous AFCON appearance served as a major learning curve, helping him understand the demands, pressure and responsibility that come with playing at the highest level on the continent.
He stressed that improvement comes with time, experience and reflection, noting that he feels more mature and composed in this tournament.
The goalkeeper also emphasized that defensive success is a collective effort, insisting that clean sheets and records are never down to one player alone.
According to him, communication, organisation and teamwork across the entire unit are crucial to keeping opponents out.
On a personal note, Nwabali admitted that this AFCON feels different emotionally following the loss of his parents. He described it as a difficult period but said the support from teammates and officials has helped him stay focused and grateful.
He added that the experience has strengthened his resolve and appreciation for the game.
As Nigeria prepares for the Round of 16 clash against Mozambique on 5 January in Fès, Nwabali believes the team is growing with every match and remains determined to keep learning, improving and pushing forward in the tournament.
