Among the messages was an emotional statement and call by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently outside the country, but quickly got through to the hospital where Joshua was receiving special attention worthy of his status as an intentional star.
Sports247 gathered further that Joshua is being treated at Duchess International Hospital, which has been rated Nigeria’s best private medical facility for the past two years, as it ‘combines excellence in healthcare with a unique experience of hospitality.’
While Joshua’s close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, died in the accident, the former champion, who only few days earlier defeated American social media influencer, Jake Paul with a sixth-round knockout in Miami, USA, complained of pain in his leg.
President Tinubu disclosed that he had been reassured that Joshua is receiving top-notch medical care and added that he had spoken to the boxer’s mother, Yeta Odusanya, who reportedly rushed to stay at her son’s side in the hospital.
A government statement quoted Tinubu saying, “I spoke with AJ on the phone to personally convey my condolences over the death of his two associates.
“I wished him well and prayed for him. He assured me that he is receiving the best care in the hospital. I also spoke with AJ’s mother and prayed for her. She was very appreciative of my call.
“Additionally, I spoke to Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was in the hospital with them. The Governor assured me that he will do everything possible to ensure AJ receives the best possible attention.”
