The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Anthony Adeboye, has praised the Super Eagles for their resilience, unity, and winning mentality following Nigeria’s thrilling 3–2 victory over Tunisia in Fès, which secured an early qualification for the Round of 16 at the ongoing 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nigeria delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, racing to a three-goal lead through strikes from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman, before weathering a late Tunisian fightback to claim all three points and move to the top of the group with six points.

Reacting to the result, Adeboye described the performance as a reflection of the true Nigerian spirit, noting that the team showed composure, hunger, and collective responsibility from start to finish.
“This was not just a win, it was a statement,” Adeboye said.
“The Super Eagles played with belief, discipline, and unity. Even when the game became tense, they stayed together and fought as one. That is the character of a winning team and the character of Nigeria.”
The presidential aide singled out the leadership on the pitch, commending captain Wilfred Ndidi for leading by example and the attacking trio for their relentless pressure on the Tunisian defence.
He also applauded the team’s ability to respond positively despite late pressure.
Adeboye added that the victory goes beyond the scoreline, stressing its importance for national morale and youth inspiration.
“Our youths are watching. Every tackle, every goal, every moment of resilience sends a message that with focus and teamwork, challenges can be overcome. This team is inspiring millions back home.”
With qualification secured ahead of the final group match against Uganda, Adeboye urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting the team.
“The journey is not over. Let us stay united, stay hopeful, and stand firmly behind the Super Eagles as they continue their quest for continental glory.”
