The newly unveiled mini stadium is designed to deepen grassroots football development, provide quality sporting infrastructure for young people, and enhance community participation through sports in the historic Sura axis of Lagos Island.

Speaking at the event, Adeboye applauded the Lagos State Government under Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the leadership of the Lagos State Sports Commission, led by Lekan Fatodu, for prioritising grassroots football and youth empowerment.

“This project is a clear statement of intent. When sports facilities are taken directly to the communities, especially historic areas like Sura, young talents are given a chance to thrive and dream bigger,” Adeboye said.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to grassroots sports as a tool for youth engagement, social development, and national unity.

Also present at the commissioning were the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende; Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Liameed Gafar; a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Afinni; as well as other dignitaries and community leaders.

The Sanwo-Olu Mini Stadium by Tecno is expected to serve as a hub for youth football, local competitions, and talent discovery, further strengthening Lagos State’s position as a leading force in grassroots sports development.
