The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced a significant increase in prize money for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, with the eventual champions set to earn a record USD 10 million.

The new figure represents a 43 per cent increase from the previous edition in 2023, when hosts Côte d’Ivoire claimed USD 7 million after lifting the trophy.

The steady rise in prize money underlines CAF’s commitment to enhancing the value and global competitiveness of Africa’s flagship football tournament.

At AFCON Cameroon 2021, the winners received USD 5 million, meaning the prize for champions has doubled within four years, marking a remarkable 100 per cent increase by the time Morocco 2025 is decided.
