American National Football League (NFL) side, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Nigerian-born star, Emeka Egbuka has been rated both low and high on the cards of performances by all players in the outgoing week, Sports247 gathered.
Egbuka’s latest ratings fall somewhat below his standards, as his role in The Bucs’ squad was limited to fewer minutes on the pitch, but he also gained a few high points from improved impact along the line.
A review by Sports Yahoo fantasy contributor, James Koh noted that Egbuka played just 64% of the offensive snaps for his team, which is a season low for the ace, who hurt his hamstring mid-game in Week 6.
However, Koh did not floor Egbuka all the way, as the erudite writer noted that the Nigerian-born lad was able to pick himself up after the revival of a pivotal teammate.
“Generally, when a player plays significantly less like we saw from Egbuka this past week, I’ll mark him down as a ‘stock down’ guy.
“But, in this case with the return of Mike Evans, Egbuka was able to move around the formation more, playing more out of the slot and off the line. This helped create better matchups for the rookie.
“As a result, his efficiency skyrocketed. His 9.1 yards/target was his highest since his Week 5 apex, a game where he went ham sandwich (7/7/163/TD).
“Egbuka’s 57.1% catch rate was also his highest since that aforementioned Week 5 game,” Koh added.
He also chipped in some information about Olamide Zaccheaus (OZ) of Chicago Bears, who shot into the spotlight after his fellow-Nigerian-born teammate, Rome Odunze aggravated his foot injury and Luther Burden III hurt his ankle.
“OZ played 82% of the snaps, his most since Week 6. But, while he’ll see increased targets, the matchup is pretty brutal against Green Bay in Week 16.
“The Packers have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to receivers in the slot,” Koh pointed out in his latest weekend ending analysis.
