Nigerian-born sensation, Ogugua ‘OG’ Anunoby is standing tall in United States of America, after helping New York Knicks win this year’s National Basketball Association (NBA) Cup title.
Sports247 reports that Anunoby, who plays under the flag of Great Britain, was one of his team’s outstanding players on the night, as The Knicks pulled off an unexpected win over San Antonio Spurs.

With Anunoby in sparkling form, alongside Jordan Clarkson and NBA Cup MVP Jalen Bruson, New York Knicks rallied to win 124-113 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
Anunoby hit 28 points and Brunson had 25, as The Knicks overcame all threats from NBA superstar, Victor Wembanyama, who appeared to be nearing his first trophy with Spurs.
The Knicks’ late comeback turned the game fully around, as Anunoby and Co. went on to clinch the NBA Cup, which is in its third season but yet to gain prestige as the regular championship.
Anunoby now enters the record books in being part of the squad that added to The Knicks’ trophy cabinet, following their NBA championship conquest of 1973 in Madison Square Garden.
As their due reward, Anunoby and his teammates got more than a trophy, as each player with a standard contract receives an extra $318,560 for winning the Cup, with a total of $530,933 for reaching the final.
