The founder and head coach of Faith Ballers Africa Football Academy, Olajide Olutobi-Quest has expressed sheer delight with his team’s ability to end the year 2025 with a trophy in their cabinet.
Sports247 gathered that the latest trophy in the closet of the team known more commonly as F8 Ballers was picked up on Sunday, when they defeated Strong Dove FA in the final of Coach Hyacienth Nkwocha Memorial Football Carnival.
All it took was a single goal in the second half of the encounter at Legacy Pitch of Lagos National Stadium, Surulere to seal victory for the boys of ‘Coach Jay Jay,’ who hails from Modakeke in Osun State.
The youthful tactician admitted in a chat with Sports247 that it was a heartwarming achievement by his seven-year-old team, which is effectively captained by their goalkeeper, Emmanuel Adebowale.
“I am happy with this victory, because it shows that the sponsorship we are getting from Pecks Grey Construction Company is not a waste.
“They have really helped us since becoming our financial partners, to the extent that we can even afford to train regularly at Legacy Pitch,” revealed Coach Jay Jay, who played for Kaduna United and Gray’s International FC during his heyday.
The handsome, smooth-bearded, calm and soft-spoken coach added: “I know what it means to play youth football and the joy of winning cups at this level.
“That’s something I enjoyed along with players like Isaac Promise, when we won Shell Cup for Nigerian secondary schools twice during our days at Gray’s College.”
