Anthony Joshua Versus Tyson Fury Mega-Fight Back On Boxing’s Cards

Fresh expectations have emerged about the possibility of Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua taking on fellow-Brit, Tyson Fury in a mega-fight, Sports247 gathered.

Although details of the arrangement are yet to emerge, speculation rose high on Saturday that a date in 2026 is about to be fixed for the long-talked-about and much-expected clash between both former world champs.

While ‘AJ’ has a controversial date to settle this week with Jake Paul in Miami, USA, Fury has been silent since retiring from the ring, but he has repeatedly hinted at the possibility of rescinding that decision.

They are both also being lined up for separate fights at the start of next year, but information on offer from The Ring Magazine indicates that talks about a likely date in the middle of 2026 have already started.

The magazine, which is owned by the head of Riyadh Season promotions, Turki Alalshikh, is largely seen as authoritative in reporting fights staged in the oil-rich Middle East country, thereby making many observers believe the latest hint.

A report by Sky Sports stated in part: “Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are being lined up for a long-awaited showdown next year.

“A bout between Joshua and Fury – two of the best British heavyweights of all time – has been mooted for years but has never come to fruition.

“In 2021, the British stars were almost in with a chance to fight for the undisputed heavyweight champion’s title.”

The stage now appears set for that mouth-watering clash to finally come up, though there won’t be any title or belt at stake this time.
