First Bank Basketball Club concluded their 2025 FIBA Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) campaign in 10th place after a 48–42 defeat to F.A.P Women in the 9th–10th classification game on Thursday at the Prince Abdallah Al Faisal Sports Hall in Egypt.

The Nigerian side struggled offensively throughout the encounter, particularly in the third quarter where they failed to register a single point, allowing the Cameroonian club to seize full control.
Despite a late push in the fourth quarter, First Bank could not overturn the deficit.
F.A.P Women dominated the boards with a commanding 64 rebounds to First Bank’s 41, including 23 offensive rebounds that provided several second-chance scoring opportunities.
Their superiority in the paint proved decisive, as they outscored the Nigerians 34–16 in that area.
First Bank shot 25.6% from the field and went 0% from three-point range, further compounding their offensive struggles.
F.A.P, though also inefficient from deep, managed a better 30% overall shooting accuracy.
The game saw multiple momentum swings with seven lead changes, but F.A.P Women maintained control for more than 30 minutes of play.
They also registered six blocks while First Bank failed to record any.
Despite forcing 21 turnovers from F.A.P, First Bank could only convert 11 points off those mistakes — the same number as their opponents, who committed fewer fouls and controlled the tempo for most of the contest.
First Bank’s bench contributed 24 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Cameroonians’ stronger inside play and second-chance scoring.
With the result, the Nigerian representatives close out their WBLA season in 10th position, while F.A.P Women secure 9th place.
