Although his rabble-rousing approach appears to be responsible for the spate of injuries that keep on knocking him out of key matches, the Chile 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup gold medalist and top scorer declared emphatically that he is not ready to make a change.

Rather than adopt a calm style when next he’s on the pitch, Osimhen stated matter-of-factly that he sees the playing arena as a battle ground, and he must always come out of it with victory.

The former Ultimate Strikers of Lagos, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Racing Charleroi of Belgium, Lille Metropole of France and SSC Napoli of Italy hitman declared: “I look at football as a war zone.

“It’s something you have to go into and come out alive … that means you must win. For me, it’s the same mindset … I go into every game with a mission to win, and my head will be raised up.”

The 2023 African Footballer of The Year concluded by stressing that the three key factors that aid success in life are determination, progression and focus, all of which have helped him to excel each point in time while playing the round leather game.

Osimhen philosophised, “It’s good to be determined and, as a human being, there’s no way you cannot think of going forward in life.

“So, the moment I step on the pitch, maybe to train or play a match, I shut my ears to what anybody is saying. All I do is focus on the job.”
