New York Knicks’ forward, OG Anunoby is in the spotlight of USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA), following an assault on him by the same opponent who last month attacked fellow-Nigerian-born star, Onyeka Okongwu.
Sports247 reports that, in a similar manner that Okongwu was at the centre of a technical foul during NBA action last month, Anunoby came under the spotlight after he was hit with a ball by Orlando Magic guard, Desmond Bane.

As expected, the attack on Anunoby has now resulted in a $35,000 fine for Bane, eho was punished on a disciplinary charge of ‘throwing the ball in an unsportsmanlike manner.’
Bane was assessed to have committed a technical foul with 6:13 remaining in the fourth quarter of The Knicks’ 106-100 win over Magic on Sunday, when Anunoby was on a breakaway.
He was sandwiched by two Magic defenders, who knocked the ball out of his hands, but it remained under the basket, after which Bane picked it up and hurled it at Anunoby.
It was a repeat of an earlier incident during a 127-112 loss by The Magic against Atlanta Hawks on November 4, when Bane was ejected in the third quarter for a flagrant foul on Okongwu.
Bane was also hit with an ensuing technical infringement, as he grabbed Okongwu’s forearm for a hard foul and fired the ball into the Nigerian-born lad who was still lying on the court.
