Milwaukee Bucks’ Nigerian-born sensation, Giannis Adetokunbo (Antetokounmpo) is set to miss four weeks of action in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA), after copping a right calf strain.
Sports247 gathered that the Greece international basketball star dropped to the court under no contact from any opponent in the first quarter of his team’s 113-109 win over Detroit Pistons.

Antetokounmpo limped to The Bucks’ dressing room and information from the club later indicated that he will miss two-to-four weeks, though medical experts say it could have been worse had it been his Achilles.
That would have been a heavier blow for The Bucks, as the NBA’s former most valuable player (MVP) would have required surgery, which surely would have meant an end to his season.
It’s, however, a distraction to contract talks that began last week between the club and player, as they started conversations focused on his future with the franchise, especially as he wants to compete for more titles.
A report by Yahoo Sports’ contributing writer, Chris Cwik noted: “Wednesday’s injury still leaves open the possibility of an Antetokounmpo trade this season.
“The NBA trade deadline doesn’t take place until February, meaning Antetokounmpo should be back on the court as long as he doesn’t suffer any setbacks.
“That’s far from a guarantee, as calf injuries have proven to be pretty worrisome in the NBA.”
